The Defiance Area Fish and Game Association is the home to the Youth Shooting Sports. Sponsored by the Fish and Game and grants obtained by the club, membership is open to young, adults, both male and female, between the ages of 10 and 18.

Youth Shooting Sports members will have active participation in classes on different types of firearms, firearms safety, maintenance, shooting doctrine, target acquisition, proper use of various sights, trap shooting, and archery.

NRA 4-position small rifle program is followed at the indoor range.

Members will use .22 LR target rifles, precision air rifles, 20 gauge shotguns, and archery equipment.

There is no cost to the youth and all equipment, ammunition, and safety needs are supplied. While hearing protection is provided members may bring their own.

The Youth Shooting Sports will start in February and will meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings typically last 1 hour.

A parent or guardian is required to complete the registration form prior to any youth participating. Parents or guardians are allowed to remain while the class is being conducted or may leave and return around 7:00 p.m.
